Hi Mark great site, I stumbled across it while looking up sites about Ainsworth. When I saw Mark Barlow from Ainsworth I thought it was to do with a Mark Barlow I knew from Ainsworth, who unfortunatly passed away a year ago . I looked at your family tree and can see no link with the other Mark Barlow (as from your photo its of course not you)he was a simalar age to you and lived on Church St. He had 3 brothers and married Maxine(dont know her maiden name) Was he related to you? Did you know him? I used to play football for Ainsworth back in the 80s thats my conection.

Hi Andy, always good to hear from people connected with Ainsworth. I knew Mark quite well, we used to play together when we were little, with his brother Graham. Mark was slightly younger than me and in later life he worked for my brother Andy Barlow, before setting up on his own. I believe Maxine also worked for Andy at some point. It was very sad that he died so young. His parents were called Sheila and Peter Barlow, same as mine, was not aware that he had 3 brothers, thought it was two and a sister, but could be wrong. We also lived on Church Street, opposite the White Horse, the other side of the road to Mark. No relation to my family, as far as I can find, I have researched, but never found a connection. Best wishes. |

My mother is a war bride, Dorothy Barlow Van Horn. Born in England 1926 to William and Alice (James) Barlow. She and my dad (William Van Horn - stationed in England during WWII with the Army Air Corps) were married at St. Peters Catholic Church in 1945. She came to the US a year later. I wonder if we are related. We still have family in Lytham and surrounding area.

Hello Sue, there is a strong possibility, however it could go back several generations further than I have managed to research. Great to hear from you though, do you know where in the UK they orginated from? |

Hello Deryl, great to hear from you. I would need a little more information around your family history to answer your question and we would have to look further back than your parents, how far back have you researched. |

I was fascinated to see that your site includes my 1st cousin, 4 times removed, Jane Wells, wife of Milton Gough Wilde (you have her recorded as Jeanie) of Swavesey, Cambs. Sarah Wells, of Swavesey was my 3X Great Grandmother, she married John Richman. Jane was the child of Sarah's brother Edward. We have many Wells on our Family Tree on RootsWeb. Regards, Tricia Webb
